The 30th September marks the end of a number of the Government’s COVID schemes:
- The Coronavirus Job Retention scheme ends on 30/09, meaning that businesses will return to paying the full wages of their staff. Final furlough claims for September must be made by 14 October.
- The final Self Employment Income Support Scheme grant window (the fifth grant) closes on 30/09. There will be no further grants available under this scheme.
- Stamp Duty Land Tax will return to pre COVID levels.
- The Universal credit uplift of £20 per week which has been in place since the beginning of the pandemic will come to an end on 30/09.
- The reduced rates of VAT for hospitality and tourism businesses increase on 1 October 2021 (current rates end on 30 September). Further details of this can be found here.
