The original intention of the job retention bonus was to pay £1,000 per employee to businesses that brought back their staff from furlough. However, due to the extension of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to 31 March 2020 the job retention bonus has been withdrawn. The Government has stated that they may redeploy a job retention incentive in future, at the appropriate time.
