The Christmas Support Payment is for wet-led pubs in England that predominantly serve alcohol rather than food i.e. less than 50% of sales come from food. The business will be eligible if it’s subject to Tier 2 or Tier 3 restrictions from 2 December and provided that it was an established pub before 1 December 2020. Businesses in areas moving from Tier 1 to Tier 2 or Tier 3 after 29 December will not be eligible to receive funding. Businesses that are also in receipt of other Local Restrictions Support Grants can also receive this grant.
Local councils will use their discretion to determine whether businesses meet the eligibility criteria for this grant scheme.
Eligible businesses will be paid a one-off lump sum of £1,000.
