As a farmer’s son, Robert deals mainly with family businesses and companies in the farming sector and related enterprises such as hauliers, builders and contractors as well as those in the horse racing and bloodstock world.
He was a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Farming and Rural Business steering group for 18 years, retiring in 2019. He was chairman of the group for a two-year term and newsletter editor for 6 years. During his time, he provided advice and assistance to fellow accountants throughout the country, as well as making representations to bodies such as DEFRA and HMRC.
In his spare time, Robert regularly tests his financial ‘know how’ at the horse racing. Robert is a former Cumberland & Westmorland World Champion Wrestler and counts numerous sports as hobbies from football and cricket to golf and darts.
